Do you want to do more than just manage buildings—do you want to actively help shape the future of a campus? Then take on a key role in campus management at WHU’s Vallendar campus. Working directly with the Director of Campus Management, you’ll ensure that our buildings, technical facilities, and services operate reliably, that projects are implemented effectively, and that digital solutions measurably improve campus operations. This role combines operational responsibility with strategic autonomy in an international university setting.

This position is initially a one-year fixed-term contract with the potential to become extended or permanent.

Your mission

  • Oversee the operational management of key facility management activities at the Vallendar campus
  • Ensure the safe, efficient, and cost-effective operation of campus buildings and technical infrastructure
  • Coordinate and monitor maintenance and repair activities
  • Manage and oversee external service providers, ensuring high standards of quality and performance
  • Monitor project quality, budgets, and timelines
  • Support and coordinate construction, renovation, refurbishment, and maintenance projects
  • Drive the continuous improvement and optimization of facility management processes
  • Contribute to energy efficiency and sustainability initiatives across the campus
  • Act as deputy to the Director of Campus Management within the assigned areas of responsibility
  • Advance the digital transformation of Campus Management, with a particular focus on CAFM/IWMS systems
  • Maintain and further develop digital documentation and ensure high data quality
  • Manage and optimize digital interfaces and workflows
  • Support the user-oriented implementation and continuous improvement of digital solutions in day-to-day campus operations

Your profile

  • University degree in Engineering, Facility Management, Civil Engineering, or a comparable technical discipline, or an equivalent qualification with relevant additional training
  • Several years of professional experience in a responsible role within Facility Management, project management, or the administration of digital facility management systems
  • Familiarity with a recognized project management methodology (e.g., PRINCE2) is an advantage
  • Proven experience in coordinating teams and managing external service providers, as well as successfully driving projects forward
  • Strong organizational skills with a structured, independent, and solution-oriented approach to work
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with a wide range of stakeholders
  • Ideally, experience with CAFM/IWMS systems, digital documentation, building services engineering, statutory compliance (operator responsibilities), and sustainable campus or real estate development
  • Fluent German and English language skills, both written and spoken
